Currently shining as a full-time Dental Hygiene Professor at George Brown College, her career is a beacon of commitment, knowledge, and inspiration.
Educational and Professional Mastery
Fatimah's journey in dental hygiene education is grounded in a comprehensive academic background, including a Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene Science (BDScDH) from University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Post-Secondary Education from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Embarking on a Doctor of Education (EdD) in January 2022, her focus is on curriculum and instruction, reflecting her dedication to enhancing educational quality and accessibility.
With a teaching philosophy centered on empowering students and colleagues to discover and harness their inner strengths, Fatimah brings over eight years of rich experience across esteemed post-secondary institutions to her role. Her experiences from Oxford College, Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries, and Georgian College showcases her prowess in delivering didactic and clinical education that meets high educational standards.

In addition to her academic roles, Fatimah has been a self-employed dental hygienist since 2007, where her practice is grounded in evidence-based care and patient education. Her proficiency in periodontics, local anesthesia, and digital radiography, among other areas, is highly regarded by her peers, as evidenced by numerous endorsements and accolades such as the Hu-Friedy NEVI 2.0 Scholarship Award.
